Eyecare Trust Launches Student Membership Scheme
The Eyecare Trust launched a new student membership scheme at Optrafair 2007. The new scheme, which is open to anyone studying an optics related discipline – from under graduate to pre-registration – will provide an introduction to the valuable role that the charity plays in raising public awareness of all aspects of eye health, and, in promoting the benefits of entrusting your eye care to registered professionals.
Student’s joining the scheme will have the opportunity to help shape, and get involved with, the Trust’s ongoing programme of public information campaigns.
Other student membership benefits include:
• Daily Optics in the News email alerts
• Access to the members’ zone on the Trust’s website
• A free ‘firstname.lastname@example.org’ email address
• Set of patient information leaflets
• Discounts on a range of products and services
• Subscription to the Trust’s quarterly e-magazine
Commenting on the launch of the scheme, the Eyecare Trust’s Chairman, Iain Anderson said: “The launch of the new scheme will provide a tangible way for young ophthalmic professionals to show their support for the Trust, and will be a perfect antecedent to our existing membership categories.”
Iain continued: “The Trust has also developed a student brand identity utilising a dynamic and edgy graphic font which, we hope, will give the membership scheme a more youthful and contemporary feel.”
In addition to the student membership scheme the charity has two other categories of membership – a Patron programme for corporate and professional supporters and a Friends subscription scheme for practitioners.
Application forms for free student membership will be available from the Eyecare Trust’s stand at Optrafair (P142), online at www.eyecare-trust.org.uk or by emailing email@example.com.
