Trust welcomes new corporate patron
The Eyecare Trust is delighted to announce that Birmingham Optical Group, arguably the UK’s leading supplier of ophthalmic instruments and machines, has become its 10th corporate patron.
Patrons pledge an annual subscription to the Trust for a minimum of two years. This valuable donation is then used to help finance the Trust’s core activities. As well as being a worthy way to support the generic promotion of eyecare in the UK, patronage also brings the opportunity to participate directly in eyecare awareness campaigns run by the Trust.
Other benefits of becoming a corporate patron include: a profile on the Trust’s much visited website and subscription to the ‘Optics in the News’ daily news alert service.
Iain Anderson, Chairman of the Eyecare Trust comments: “We’re delighted to welcome Birmingham Optical Group as a patron. In addition to providing vital funds to support the charity’s work this partnership reinforces our shared goal of educating the public about the importance of having regular sight tests and ultimately improving peoples’ lives through greater clarity of vision.”
Chris Tyler, Birmingham Optical Group CEO said: “I am delighted on behalf of the business to become a patron of the Eyecare Trust and feel very moved by the incredible work they perform in the interest of the publics ocular health. We as a business share a passion for the continued stimulation of the large percentage of the population who are ignorant of visiting their optician and hope our contribution can help the message be heard.”
Other corporate patrons of the Trust include Hoya Lens UK Ltd, The Norville Group, Specsavers Opticians, the Association of British Dispensing Opticians, Optrex, the Central (LOC) Fund, Transitions Optical, HealthSure and Rubicon Exotic Juice Drinks.
